My husband and I love The Lake District and decided, a few years back, to work our way through the famous Wainwright walks which cover 214 mountains!
One of these mountains is called Helvellyn, the third highest peak in England. The route we had chosen to get to the summit follows a thin path with sheer drops either side. This path is called Striding Edge. We decided to do this in conjuntion with raising money for The Mayhew Animal home.
If you would like to donate to such a wonderful rescue centre please click. £350 has been raised so far on this project
and £1478.00 has been raised on a previous fundraising project after a cruelty case involving a german shepherd dog:

About The Mayhew Animal home.
The Mayhew Animal Home is one of the most effective animal welfare organisations in London, reaching thousands of dogs and cats to escape a life of abandonment, neglect and cruelty each year.
More than just a rescue and rehoming centre, The Mayhew strives to tackle the companion animal welfare crisis through the delivery of a number of community-based outreach programmes.
We recognise that education is key, not only to achieve a reduction in the number of unwanted dogs and cats, but also to ensure that all animals receive appropriate care.
The Mayhew has a team of Animal Welfare Officers that respond to animal welfare issues out in the wider community and deliver a range of community initiatives, including a Trap, Neuter, Release programme for London’s feral cats, cross collaboration with government and non-government agencies working to address the challenges of irresponsible ownership, and provide ongoing support to carers and pet owners in difficulty.
The Mayhew Animal home has a growing international presence to further promote The Mayhew’s message of empathetic companion animal welfare through a network of community based animal care initiatives.by
